Classical Pilates, "the art of contrology", was invented by Joseph Pilates. It is a movement and conditioning system which follows a sequence of exercises based on six principles: Centring, Concentration, Control, Precision, Breath and Flow which form the foundation of the method.
Pilates can be summed up with three words:
'Stretch, strength with control'
What do we offer?
Mat classes are a typical place to start on your journey into Pilates. Mat follows a specified sequence that warms up the body, challenges the body and then cools it down. The order strengthens and stretches the torso, arms and legs in all planes of movement. Clients are challenged with appropriate progressions with and then against gravity; lying down, sitting up, kneeling and standing. Mat is suitable for All Levels.
Most equipment designs use spring mechanisms that the client works to control while moving in different planes. Pilates apparatus is suitable for All Levels. The studio is fully equipped with a Reformer/Tower combination, Cadillac-Trapeze Table, Wunda Chair, Arm Chair, Ladder Barrel, 2 small Barrels, Spine Corrector, Foot Corrector and Toe-exerciser and Hand exerciser.
